Old Cars for Fun 7358
Summary It’s hard to imagine a more flexible use and a better name for the Old Cars for Fun 1964 Dodge model 330 two-door post sedan because it can be either shown or raced in either a Max Wedge or Hemi configuration and who couldn’t help but have fun with that! Owner and Sponsor Owned and sponsored by Mark Patterson’s Old Cars for Fun of Indianapolis, Ind. / Ray Koons of Indianapolis as crew chief Driver Mark Patterson is a retired police officer after a 24-year career and is currently a competitive master pistol and rifle shooter; he is a member of the State of Indiana Governor’s office top 20. At age 16, Patterson started racing go-karts and eventually advanced into a National Hot Rod Association Super Stock Eliminator SS/GA 1967 Dodge Coronet. Patterson, who is also an amateur radio extra class operator, started his Old Cars for Fun auto parts business 30 years ago. History After a partial restoration by Gary Ball of Syracuse, Indiana, the Old Cars for Fun Dodge was purchased by Duane Alfrey, a high school friend of Patterson. First acquiring the vehicle from Alfrey and then finishing the restoration, Patterson spent many years on the show circuit with the car. But after attending the Hot Rod Nationals at Indianapolis and talking with Nostalgia Super Stock Inc. president Joe Zajac in 1996, Patterson also acquired the desire to go racing again. He returned a year later with his show car reconfigured into a race car and hasn’t looked back. “We’re enjoying both the people and the racing,” said Patterson. The Old Cars for Fun Dodge has been featured several times in Goodguys Magazine and also in Drag News.
