Dandy Dodge 65
Summary Tom Mitchell has always liked the style and varieties of Super Stockers but ‘back in the day’ he especially liked one racer. The Dandy Dodge, a 1965 Dodge Coronet two-door hardtop, is a tribute automobile to one of the most famous ‘Golden Era’ Super Stock and Factory Experimental drivers, ‘Dandy’ Dick Landy. “He’s a personal hero, I named the car for him,” said Mitchell.

Drivers Two drivers – Tom Mitchell of Columbia, Missouri, is a retired United States Postal Service technician. Mitchell’s son, Tommy, also occasionally drives the car.
History First assembled and raced in 1988, the Dandy Dodge hasn’t missed a season since, including dedicated NSS action beginning in 2003. In 1999, the car was re-lettered and the correct hood scoop added. To meet current safety requirements, the roll cage and suspension was updated by Ty Baumgartner Racing Enterprises of Columbia, Missouri.
