2007 Race Season

June 8, 9, 10  Good Guys, Indianapolis, IN

Friday, Saturday July 6, 7  Chandler Motorsports Park, Chandler, IN

The cars were on display Friday night and Club members enjoyed chatting with new and
and old friends.  Then, it was off to the track on Saturday.

Saturday, July 21   Coles County Dragway, Charleston IL

Who says, "It takes a village to fix a fuel regulator"?  Everything was up and running in
no time at all, thanks to the many hands and parts loaned.

Saturday, August 18 U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Mike held the rain off until we got most of the runs in for the fans.  We had many return
fans, who we enjoyed seeing, and new faces.  The Campbell's "trailered" in their own
cheering section.

Sunday, August 26  Midwest Rod and Custom Show & Shootout, Byron Dragway,
          Byron, IL

Fun day for all.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, September 7-9  Monster Mopar

Friday and Saturday drivers had to deal with rain delays.  Saturday night found the group
at the annual dinner put on by various sponsors.   The food was great and one of our
members surprised us all with his new occupation of auctioneer.  Two members of our group
supported the auction and Dave Duell's charity, Santa Clothes Club.  Sunday, elimination
day, the weather was beautiful and after morning time runs, eliminations began.

2006 Race Season

Saturday, May 13  Chandler Motorsports Park, Chandler, IN

This was a first time for the Club in visiting Chandler Motorsports Park.  We had a great time.  We
enjoyed visiting with new fans.  The weather was a bit cool but the rain held off.  We had many time
runs, which was good, since this was the first time for many to get their cars on the track from winter
storage.  We had three exhibition runs.

Saturday, June 3 U.S. Raceway, Osborn, MO

We had an absolutely beautiful night to race.  Mike Franks joined with our group with his '65 Malibu
to even out our field. We thank him for his participation but realize he was probably having as much
fun as we were.  As always we appreciated the tracks hospitality and look forward to returning in
August.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 9, 10, 11  Goodguys, Indianapolis, IN

We had three time runs on Friday for everyone to work the "kinks" out.  Unfortunately, the weather didn't
cooperate and that was it for the weekend.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, August 12  U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Another great night of racing at Osborn.  We had a fantastic turn out of club members.  There was a good
spectator crowd and lots of young fans, which we love to see.  We shared our pictures and race cards of the
cars with them.  We all appreciated John Grinwald's back-up/street car that he was able to bring.  Everyone
needs a back-up car!  We again thank Mike Franks for his hospitality and look forward to next year.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

September 30 and October 1, Midstate Dragway, IL

We had 13 members attending along with 3 non-members.  The weather and the food were great.  The
track bite was good for the 200 cars that were participating in front of a real good crowd.  Since this
was our last event for the season, we had a short award ceremony.

2005 Race Season

Saturday, June 4  U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Mike Franks had to cancel the race for this evening due to weather forecasts.  It was a good thing,
the track got 4 inches of rain and a tornado touched down 25 miles west of the track and another one
was spotted 6 miles north of the track.  Good call Mike!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 10, 11, 12  Indianapolis Raceway Park

Racing season was off and running this weekend.  There were two good days of racing before the rain hit on Sunday.
It was great seeing lots of fans and visiting with old friends.  The ladies enjoyed the bus to the downtown shopping
area.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, July 9  U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Mike Franks ran the evening event as smoothly as ever.  The crowd was as enthusiastic.  We enjoyed talking to fans
and passing out race cards to the kids (young and old).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, July 30  Cedarfalls Raceway, Cedarfalls, IA

We were glad to see in attendance Tom and Mike who have raced with us in the past.  Tom was anxiously
awaiting the buffet dinner while Mike entertained with his never ending supply of jokes.  Even though it was
warm we enjoyed the cool breeze and the welcomed green grass in the pits.  It's a great track to race at and
we sure enjoyed the support and enthusiasm of the fans.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 6, Eddyville Raceway Park, Eddyville, Iowa

The facility is really nice and the track manager, race director, and announcer were very pleased with our show.
We had one time run in the afternoon and two exhibition runs during the evening. We had a 45minute delay after
the first time run because of a major oil down. Mike Cicciarelli was the star of the show with his awesome wheel
stands. The track gave him the Wheel Stand Champion of 2005 award.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 26, 27  World Series, Cordova, IL

The rain stayed away, it was a nice weekend, lots of racecars, lots of race spectators and best of all lots of good food.

Rich Berlisk said it best Saturday evening sitting at the picnic table after our wonderful meal.  One of the funny cars
fired up and the smell of nitro was in the air. “Good food, good friends and the smell of nitro.  Can’t get any better
than this."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

September 9, 10, 11  Monster Mopar, Gateway International Raceway, St. Louis, MO

We were glad to see Tom and Leslie made the trip to St. Louis in our support. The track was very hot with
temperatures in the mid 90’s all three days.  Class eliminations were Saturday with John Grinwald winning
the AFX class.  Saturday evening, Indy Cylinder Head and TTI Exhaust sponsored an awards dinner for
all the Super Stock participants with abundant door prizes. At the dinner Saturday night, Photo Sports
presented each class winner a picture of themselves with their car.  The background was the St. Louis
skyline with the arch.  The picture was on canvass, a very impressive first class gift from Photo Sports.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's shy Cathy.  She's our honorary
Chief chef, announcer, and cheerleading section.

October 1, 2  Midstate Dragway, Havana, IL

A great ending to a super racing season.  We had 14 members with 13 cars in attendance.  Long time
friend Kenny Gresham came up to run with us and two other non-member racers joined in to make a
sixteen-car field.  It was really nice to see the number of members who were able to attend this event.
Once again, a perfect ending to a super racing season.  Thanks to all who came to spend time with us.

2004 Race Season

Our club enjoys visiting with fans and sharing clips from past events.  We have a few clips below from some of our events this year.  We hope you enjoy.

Sunday, April 25  Byron, Illinois Dragway

It was a cool day but a warm reception by the enthusiastic crowd.   The weather didn't
put dampers on anyone.  Our club members were greeted with warm hospitality by fans, and
a track special guest "Broadway Bob".

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, June 5  U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Saturday night, June 5, was perfect race night weather at U.S. 36 Raceway.  The drivers enjoyed talking with the race fans and handing out collector cards to the kids.  Track owner, Mike Franks, paused to talk with drivers about race track conditions and exchange a few stories.   Club members, as well as fans, enjoyed some close races.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 11, 12, 13   Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals, Indianapolis, Indiana

There were 24 racers at Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals.  It rained a bit every day but didn't put "dampers" on the weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 19, 20  Pontiac Nationals, Cordova, Illinois

What a great weekend.  The weather was super, race cars ran really great, and the track was hookin'.  We appreciated the invitation from Pete Woodruff to attend the Pontiac Nationals, and thanks to Scott Gardner for preparing an excellent track.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 26, 27  Outlaw Streetcar Bash, Union Grove, Wisconsin

The fourth straight weekend of racing provided 12 cars and a great exhibition for the crowd.  And the crowd didn't let us down.  The announcing was super and the fans were phenomenal.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

July 31  The 4th Annual Night Under Fire Cedar Falls Raceway

Wow what an event. A huge crowd of spectators and lots of visitors came by to visit with our group.  The track was great. It had a good bite and a long shut down area.  The roads were all paved with grass parking.  Overall it was an excellent evening and lots of fun for all.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

August 14  U.S. 36 Raceway, Osborn, MO

Again, it was perfect race weather.  We had 12 Nostalgia Super Stock racers and families.  Three members enjoyed their first trip to this track: Ken Kleiner with a 1964 Mercury Comet, Rich Berlisk with a 1964 Plymouth, and John Grinwald with his Hemi Dart.  There was lots of visiting by all.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday and Saturday, August 27 and 28 51st Annual World Series of Drag Racing, Cordova, Illinois

The weather didn't cooperate this weekend.  Saturday was to be picture day and it rained all day--so no pictures of this event.  We were thankful for two good runs Friday night and some exuberant fans.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, September 10-12 Monstar Mopar Weekend at Gateway International Raceway,
St. Louis

WOW, What an event!!  There were 64 Nostalgia Superstock cars. They were all beauties.  One of our favorite parts of racing is eating - and this event didn't let us down.  Saturday evening Indy Cylinder Head and Monster Mopar sponsored an Awards Banquet for the NSS racers.  One of our members served up "splitters" for a couple of meals.  A fun weekend for all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday and Sunday, September 25-26 Havana, Illinois

This was a perfect weekend to finish up our racing season.  Thanks to all of the fans who came to see us and all of the tracks and track owners for making us part of their program this year.
